- "PATRICK DUNCAN, born Botriplmie .,,_,. about 1700 ; educated at King s College, Aberdeen, 1717-21 ; school master of Rhynie, 1720-5 ; licen. by Presb. of Peebles in 1728 ; app. Royal Bounty missionary at Cairney 2nd Feb. 1731 ; called 2nd Sept. 1734 and (trials being delayed by his illness) ord. 9th April 1735 ; died 25th Jan. 1760. He inarr. 14th Oct. 1735, Elspet(died 9th Feb. 1780), daugh. of James Milne of Kinstair, and had issue Elizabeth, born 16th March 1739 (marr. 5th July 1759, Robert Grant, licentiate); John, born 5th Jan. 1743 ; Jean, born 16th Nov. 1745; Thomas, born 4th Nov. 1750.
